The City Boy Movement has made a significant shift in its role and goals, evolving from a campaign platform to a nationwide movement focused on citizen engagement and national development. This was stated by Seyi Tinubu, the patron of the movement, at the opening dinner of the City Boy Movement National Retreat held at the State House in Abuja. The retreat brought together leaders, state coordinators, and members from across the federation to review the organisation's activities and strengthen strategies for grassroots mobilisation.

Sey Tanubu commended members for their commitment, noting that they had travelled from every corner of the nation not because they were compelled to, but because they believe in a cause that is greater than themselves. He described this spirit of sacrifice as what defines leadership. The City Boy Movement, according to Sey Tanubu, has become a strong family foundation, a national network of committed patriots, and a symbol of resilience, loyalty, and purposeful engagement.

Sey Tanubu highlighted the movement's ongoing efforts to mobilise volunteers, encourage youth participation in governance, and promote democratic values. He urged members to communicate government policies with empathy and facts, acknowledging that many Nigerians are still experiencing the impact of the reforms initiated by President Bola Tinubu. Sey Tanubu challenged members to deepen grassroots engagement across wards, local governments, markets, campuses, and communities.

The Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Francis Shoga, reiterated the organisation's goal of targeting 10 million youth votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the next general election through sustained grassroots mobilisation. He urged members to build a disciplined and results-driven organisation capable of educating Nigerians on government policies and mobilising support at the community level.

The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Mariya Mahmoud, commended the City Boy Movement for promoting patriotism, unity, and responsible citizenship. She reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Capital Territory Administration to delivering improved infrastructure, enhanced security, better public services, and environmental renewal in line with President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, emphasised the importance of involving young people in shaping the country's future. He urged youth to move beyond being observers to becoming active participants in governance, leadership, and national development.

With this shift in focus, the City Boy Movement is poised to play a significant role in Nigeria's national development, engaging citizens at the grassroots level and promoting democratic values.
