The Nigerian Army claims these devices were taken from ISWAP terrorists who were making propaganda videos and documenting their operational activities. After analyzing these devices, the military was able to identify the leaders of ISWAP operating in the Mangari-Metele-Dogon Chukun axis. And guess what – it's not the first time these terrorists have been in the news. In 2023, ISWAP was responsible for attacking the University of Maiduguri, killing many students and staff members.

Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, the Governor of ISWAP, is a highly wanted terrorist. The Nigerian Army is offering a N50 million bounty for information leading to his arrest. His deputy, Amirul Jaish Muhammad Jidda, also known as 'The One-Handed Man', has a N10 million bounty on his head. The military believes that by exposing these leaders, they can weaken the terrorist group.

The Acting Military Information Officer for Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Muhammed Goni, said that the military wishes to draw the attention of the public to Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa and that they will offer a substantial financial reward to anyone who provides credible information leading to his arrest. The military assured that all information received will be treated with utmost confidentiality and the identity of informants will be fully protected.
