Ghana's Tallest Man in Need of Urgent Surgery

Awuche, believed to be Ghana's tallest man, has been battling gigantism for several years. He stands at approximately 7 feet 8 inches and has been unable to seek specialised medical care due to financial constraints.

Recently, Awuche's health took a turn for the worse after a severe infection caused part of his left leg to rot. Doctors at the Baptist Medical Centre (BMC) in Nalerigu referred him to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) for further treatment.

Ibrahim Mahama, a businessman and philanthropist, has come to Awuche's aid after an appeal for support. Through his aide, Rafik Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama has pledged to cover all medical expenses, including treatment and surgery.

"On behalf of Mr Ibrahim Mahama, I have reached out to Awuche and his family to assure them of our full support during this challenging time," said Rafik Mahama.

Special arrangements were made to transport Awuche to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where he has commenced the necessary medical procedures. "We kindly ask the public to continue keeping him in their prayers as he embarks on his treatment and recovery journey," Rafik Mahama added.

### Ibrahim Mahama's Philanthropic Efforts

Ibrahim Mahama is known for his philanthropic efforts in Ghana. His company, Engineers and Planners, has been involved in several major projects, including the construction of the Aplaku-Sani Abacha Interchange in Accra.

As Awuche undergoes treatment, Ibrahim Mahama's support is a welcome relief for the family. "We wish Awuche a successful procedure, a smooth recovery, and a full return to good health," Rafik Mahama said.

### Gigantism: A Complex Condition

Gigantism is a rare medical condition that causes excessive growth in children. It occurs when the pituitary gland produces too much growth hormone, leading to an abnormal growth rate.

In Awuche's case, his gigantism led to his exceptional height. However, the condition also poses significant health risks, including vision problems, joint pain, and skin problems.

As Awuche recuperates, experts hope that his condition will be better managed through regular medical check-ups and treatment.

### A Call for Support

As Awuche undergoes his medical journey, friends and well-wishers are encouraged to support him financially and spiritually. A visit to the Tamale Teaching Hospital can be arranged to show solidarity with the family.

The public is also encouraged to continue praying for Awuche's recovery and well-being.

"We ask the public to continue keeping him in their prayers as he embarks on his treatment and recovery journey."
