Ferran Torres, the Spanish World Cup-winning forward, has signed a 5-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) till 2031.

“I’d like to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for giving me the opportunity to join the team, which I hope to help win as many trophies as possible.” – Ferran Torres, PSG website

Torres, born on February 29, 2000, in Foios, Spain, began playing football through futsal before joining the Valencia CF academy at the age of seven. He rose through the ranks at Valencia and made history in December 2017 when he became the first player born in the 21st century to feature in La Liga, making his debut against Eibar.

The forward has since become an established member of the senior national team, earning 65 caps. He won the European Under-17 Championship in 2017 and the Under-19 European Championship in 2019 with Spain’s youth teams.

During his three seasons with Valencia, Torres made 97 appearances and set several age-related records. He won his first professional trophy in 2019 when Valencia lifted the Copa del Rey.

Torres' impressive performance at Valencia earned him a move to Manchester City in 2020, where he played under Pep Guardiola. He helped Manchester City reach the Champions League final in 2021 and also won the Premier League and League Cup.

Torres made 43 appearances for City, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists. He moved to Barcelona in 2021 and at the Catalan club, he was nicknamed ‘El Tiburón’ – Spanish for ‘The Shark’.

At Barcelona, Torres became an important member of the club’s attack, making 207 appearances and scoring 65 goals, including in the Copa del Rey final victory against Real Madrid in 2025, where he helped his team force the game into extra time.

Torres won three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups during his time with Barcelona. He has now added the World Cup to his international honours by helping Spain win the tournament in North America, scoring the only goal of the final in extra time.

Torres will wear PSG’s number nine shirt and join a squad that already boasts the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Neymar Jr. and Lionel Messi.
