Kasapreko PLC lists on GSE, opens new chapter for growth

The Ghana Stock Exchange has seen a new listing as Kasapreko PLC, the country's largest indigenous beverage manufacturer, has officially listed on the Main Market. This move positions the company to access long-term capital to support its expansion plans while providing Ghanaians with an opportunity to participate in the growth of one of the country's most successful homegrown brands.

The listing of Kasapreko PLC on the GSE marks a significant milestone in the company's growth journey. Chief Executive Officer Richard Adjei stated that the company had taken time to understand the workings of the Ghanaian capital market before deciding to offer equity to investors. Mr. Adjei likened the decision to listing on the stock exchange to entering a marriage, stressing the importance of finding the right partners.

The listing is expected to support Kasapreko's expansion ambitions across Africa while strengthening its position in Ghana's competitive beverage industry. Best known for its flagship Alomo Bitters brand, Kasapreko PLC commenced trading on the Ghana Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol KASA. The listing signals strong investor confidence in Ghana's economy and capital market, according to the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare.

Managing Director of the Ghana Stock Exchange, Abena Amoah, encouraged other Ghanaian companies to leverage the capital market as a source of patient and affordable capital to support sustainable growth. She noted that companies seeking longevity must embrace public markets as a pathway to improved governance, transparency, and long-term financing.

According to the listing documents, the capital raised will finance the construction of a new production facility at Adesu and expand the company's bottled water and carbonated soft drink production capacity. This is expected to increase production capacity. Kasapreko PLC's decision to list on the GSE is expected to create more opportunities for employment and business growth.

'For us, bringing in equity is like a marriage. If you don't find the right partner, the relationship may not last. We've taken our time and we believe we've found the right partners in the equity market,' said Richard Adjei.

Kasapreko PLC's listing on the GSE is a major development for the company and the Ghanaian capital market. The move is expected to attract more investors to the market and provide Ghanaians with an opportunity to participate in the growth of one of the country's most successful homegrown brands.
