This victory is a huge milestone for Ogunsakin, who plays out of the Aurum Tennis Academy. Before this, he hadn't managed to win a match in the main draw of any junior Grand Slam. It's the kind of breakthrough players dream of, especially after battling through a tough qualifying round.
To even get to the main draw, Ogunsakin had to play his heart out. He first took down Poland's Tymon Litwic 6-3, 6-0. Then, in what you'd call a proper upset, he beat the tournament's top seed, Felix Roussel of Canada, with a solid 6-3, 6-4 victory. Earning a spot in the 64-player main draw isn't a small feat.
