Kennedy Agyapong has been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee by the NPP's National Executive Committee and National Council following petitions against him over comments made about the implementation of the Agenda 111 hospital project.

The Member of Parliament for Suame, John Darko, has urged party members to remain calm over the referral, saying it doesn't mean Agyapong has already been found guilty. According to Darko, the disciplinary process is a normal part of the party's internal democratic structures and should not be seen as an attempt to sideline or persecute Agyapong.

The Suame MP explained that the committee's engagement with Agyapong could ultimately result in a conclusion that no wrongdoing occurred and the party should move forward united. He added that if Agyapong possesses evidence to support his claims, the disciplinary process could provide an avenue for those allegations to be thoroughly examined.

Regarding the Agenda 111 project, Darko disagreed with some of Agyapong's assertions, particularly suggestions that little or no progress had been made on projects such as the Afari Military Hospital. According to him, substantial work had been completed on the facility and related infrastructure projects under the previous NPP administration.

Darko noted that the Afari Hospital project was an opportunity for the party to highlight its achievements in the health sector, but instead, the issue has become a subject of internal disagreements. He expressed confidence in the disciplinary process and urged party members to allow the committee to do its work.

Agyapong was one of the key architects of the Agenda 111 hospital project, which aimed to build 111 hospitals across the country. He has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with the project's implementation and the slow pace of work on some of the facilities.

The NPP's National Executive Committee and National Council have given the National Disciplinary Committee two weeks to investigate the matter and submit its recommendations.
