LCB Worldwide Ghana partners GHS for massive fumigation exercise in Accra

Accra's streets are about to get cleaner. On July 11, 2026, LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited partnered with the Ghana Health Service to conduct a large-scale fumigation exercise in the capital. This initiative is part of efforts to prevent disease outbreaks, especially during the rainy season.

LCB Worldwide Ghana, a company that specializes in providing disinfection services, has taken on the corporate social responsibility of keeping Accra clean. As part of their CSR programme, they targeted markets, transport terminals, and public areas in the Korle Klottey Municipality. The initiative was also in line with President John Dramani Mahama's nationwide campaign to promote cleaner communities and improve public health.

The Ghana Health Service's Director-General, Dr. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, explained that the fumigation exercise is a proactive measure designed to prevent disease outbreaks before they occur. Dr. Kaba Akoriyea emphasized that it's cheaper to prevent diseases than treat them after an outbreak.

LCB Worldwide Ghana's Lead for Partnerships and Programmes, Fiifi Buabeng-Baiden, reinforced the company's commitment to improving public health. He stated that their partnership with the Ghana Health Service means they support public safety and security initiatives. According to him, the partnership aims to provide comprehensive public safety to the country.

LCB Worldwide Ghana has consistently supported public health efforts across the country, having fumigated senior high schools, market centres, and health facilities. The company also played a significant role during the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting the government's efforts to combat the outbreak.

Ghana's rainy season poses a significant risk to public health. During the rainy season, sanitation-related diseases like cholera, malaria, and typhoid often emerge due to poor waste management and inadequate drainage systems. Dr. Kaba Akoriyea warned that it's crucial to prevent these diseases through proactive measures.

The Korle Klottey Municipal Chief Executive, Alfred Allotey-Gaisie, praised the initiative and acknowledged the need for sustained efforts to maintain clean surroundings. He urged residents, traders, and transport operators to join forces in keeping public spaces clean.
