Actress and DJ Thuli Phongolo has publicly shut down viral allegations that she was romantically involved with both music producer Prince Kaybee and businessman Edwin Sodi.
The drama exploded on X (formerly Twitter) after an anonymous account called Chris Excel posted claims linking Phongolo to the two men. Prince Kaybee then replied with a laughing reaction, writing, "lol you motherfker," followed by laughing emojis — which only made the story spread faster.
But Phongolo wasn't having it. She jumped into the comments and fired back hard.
"Uhm, since when? If you're going to entertain it, you might as well clear it with the TRUTH. I've never slept with you or Edwin for that matter! This whole narrative of trying to paint me as loose is tired, I don't play with my p*y please!" she wrote.
She also complained about losing access to her old X account, saying it's a pity someone else now owns the username Thuli_P.
Phongolo didn't stop there. She took the fight to Instagram Stories, where she reposted the viral tweets and added more heat.
"Today I woke up VERY Xhosa and petty ke sana!" she wrote. "It's one thing Chris going off on this narrative but entertaining it as though it's true knowing it's NOT and feeding into this disgusting circus is where I draw the line!"
She specifically called out Prince Kaybee, saying she has only met him once at the gym this year on a "HI & BYE basis." She accused him of being intentional with his laughing response.
"You know what you did with that response, it's intentional… stop it!" she said.
Phongolo also opened up about how tired she is of constantly defending her reputation. She said she can count the people she has dated on one hand, and that she takes pride in her integrity.
"I keep quiet because I know it's never really worth it to address it but the narrative STICKS and people start receiving you as a person you're not. And men feed into these stories because it SERVES them! Ndidikwe Finish!" she wrote.
She ended by saying her father had called her, so she was done "spiralling."
Prince Kaybee then responded to the backlash. He denied starting any rumour and fired back at people who dragged him in.
"Clear what rumour? I've never started a rumour; all that energy should've been directed to Maphorisa when he was allegedly abusing her," he wrote, referring to DJ Maphorisa, who Phongolo previously accused of physical abuse. "Y'all think just because I'm laughing here with y'all, I am some punching bag."
Thuli Phongolo is known for her role in the soapie "Rhythm City" and as a DJ. She has been in the public eye for years, and her personal life has often been a topic of gossip. Prince Kaybee is a multiple award-winning house music producer, while Edwin Sodi is a controversial businessman linked to several government contract scandals.
The whole saga is the latest example of how quickly social media can turn a baseless rumour into a national conversation — and how celebrities are increasingly fighting back directly.
