If you have been around ESUT long enough, you already know the question. Someone asks it every semester, in the hostel, in the faculty, on WhatsApp
"When are we bringing back the real Student Week?"
Well, the answer is finally here.
The ESUT Student Union Government has officially announced Student Week 2025/26, and from everything on the programme, this is not just another event on the school calendar. This is a full celebration — of talent, culture, community, and everything that makes university life worth living beyond the lecture hall.
The theme says it all:
STAY ACTIVE — NOTHING DO YOU.
The week runs from Sunday, June 15 to Sunday, June 21, with a different event lined up every single day.
What Is on the Programme?
Monday, June 15 — GGFest: Garri & Game Fest The official opening ceremony, packed with games, fun, networking, and the kind of energy that reminds you why you chose ESUT.
Tuesday, June 16 — Mr & Miss ESUT Pageantry Elegance, confidence, intelligence — and the search for the next campus royalty.
Wednesday, June 17 — Movie Night Good films, good company, and a much-needed break from academic stress.
Thursday, June 18 — Cultural Fiesta & Comedy Night A celebration of who we are — our diversity, our fashion, our food, our traditions, and of course, plenty of laughter.
Friday, June 19 — Bonfire Night (ESUT Block Party) Music, lights, energy, and the kind of memories that will still come up in conversations long after graduation.
Sunday, June 21 — Thanksgiving Service A moment of gratitude to close out a week of real impact.
Why This Student Week Matters
In a season where many students are stretched thin — academically, financially, emotionally — a week like this is not a distraction. It is a necessity.
Student Week creates space to connect with new people, showcase your talent, support student businesses, and remind yourself that university life is also supposed to be enjoyed.
For a lot of students on campus right now, this will be their very first ESUT Student Week. For others — especially those who have been asking that question every single semester — this is the one they have been waiting for.
Under the leadership of SUG President Comr. Nwodo Faustina Chizaram, the Student Union Government is delivering one of the most anticipated Student Weeks in recent ESUT history.

One look at the programme and it is clear — this team put real thought into making every student feel seen, whether you are into culture, games, fashion, faith, or just good music under the open sky.
One thing is certain: you do not want to sit this one out.
