We have confirmed that nomination forms for all 69 elective positions under the platform of the PRP have been purchased by one individual who is not even a member of our party.

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) North-west Stakeholders Forum has accused Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential running mate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), of buying nomination forms for all 69 elective positions within the party. The group threatens legal action to protect internal democracy.

The forum, led by chairperson Abdulkadir Musa, made the claim during a press conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Kano. According to Musa, the purchase of the nomination forms is a deliberate attempt to block genuine PRP members from contesting the upcoming elections.

Abdulkadir Musa, chairperson of the PRP North-west Stakeholders Forum, said the party had already selected credible candidates by consensus and would fiercely protect their political rights.

The sweeping purchase covers crucial slots, including the governorship ticket, National Assembly seats, and State House of Assembly seats. Musa linked the move to Kwankwaso, saying it was a coordinated assault on internal democracy.

Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former Governor of Kano State and vice-presidential running mate of the NDC, has been accused of buying nomination forms for all 69 elective positions within the PRP.

Kwankwasiyya, a movement led by Kwankwaso, dismissed the allegations as baseless, politically motivated, and a distraction allegedly sponsored by political opponents. The movement is led by Habibu Mailemu, who questioned the credibility of the PRP forum, suggesting they were acting as proxies for the Kano State government.

Habibu Mailemu, spokesperson for Kwankwasiyya, said the movement believes the allegations are part of a desperate effort by the state government to discredit the NDC ahead of the polls.

Mailemu highlighted what he termed a logical loophole in the PRP forum's claims, arguing that the accusation reflects poorly on the PRP's own leadership if such a transaction actually took place. For somebody to tell you that a political party sold all its nomination forms to someone who is not even a member of that party—whether Kwankwaso or whoever—it tells you what kind of political party it is,

The PRP North-west Stakeholders Forum accused Rabiu Kwankwaso of using a non-party proxy to execute the plot and has warned that legal action will be taken if the party's internal democracy is undermined.
