Tropika Island of Treasure Season 12 is Coming

The new season of Tropika Island of Treasure promises a grueling test of contestants' abilities like never before. Lalela Mswane, a seasoned competitor, is unfazed by the prospect of facing demanding challenges and strategic gameplay.

You've built a reputation for discipline and determination throughout your career. You're applying those qualities in a big way as you prepare for the challenges of Tropika Island of Treasure.

Preparing for Tropika Island of Treasure has shown me that discipline and determination aren't just qualities you switch on for big moments; they're habits you build every single day. As I prepare for the island, I'm staying mentally sharp by staying on top of my mental game, physically prepared through intense training, and emotionally grounded through mindfulness.

The competition is notorious for pushing contestants both physically and mentally to their limits. Your current fitness training ahead of your departure to Reunion Island involves how many days in the gym, and what kind of workout routine you follow?

I'm in the gym five days a week, bright and early, with my trainer, focusing on cardiovascular fitness through strength, weight, and endurance training. I also incorporate the occasional ballet or Pilates class into my routine not only to improve flexibility and balance but also for the therapeutic reset it gives me mentally and physically.

As someone who has competed on some of the world's biggest stages, how does preparing for a reality competition differ from preparing for a pageant in terms of what aspects of your personality do you focus most on?

Maintaining authenticity has brought out the best results in everything I've pursued, so, going into the show, I intend to remain unapologetically and authentically Lalela, just as I have on every platform and in every competition I've been a part of.

Tropika Island of Treasure is as much about mental resilience as it is physical ability; it's a true test of one's character. How are you preparing mentally for the pressures and unpredictability of island life and competition, and what kind of strategies are you using to stay centered?

For me, preparation has looked like intentionally strengthening my discipline, protecting my peace, and remaining connected to the things that keep me centered. Whether that's maintaining a healthy routine, taking care of my body, or making time for moments of stillness and reflection is essential.

### Beyond the Competition

Aside from the competition itself, what are you most looking forward to experiencing while on the island, beyond just the natural beauty it has to offer?

Beyond the competition, I'm most excited to immerse myself in the island's culture, from the breathtaking landscapes to the adventure and hospitality it has to offer. I'm looking forward to stepping outside of my everyday routine, embracing new experiences, and creating unforgettable memories along the way.
