The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has announced that real estate developers are rapidly taking advantage of newly constructed road infrastructure in Abuja, Nigeria's capital. According to reports, the new road infrastructure is driving real estate growth, with building projects emerging along new road corridors across the city.

The minister made this statement on Friday after inspecting the ongoing construction of the access road to the FCT Fire Service Station in Kaura District, linking Ring Road II to Oladipo Diya Way in Gaduwa. The project involves the construction of one collector road, two important local streets, and a minor access road aimed at improving connectivity and enhancing access within the rapidly developing districts.

Wike described the access road as strategically important, noting that its completion would transform the area's physical landscape, improve accessibility, and stimulate economic activities within adjoining communities and neighbourhoods. He expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, saying significant progress had been recorded since his last inspection, particularly with the successful completion of the bridge structure within the project.

The minister assured the contractor that necessary payments would be processed promptly to sustain progress and ensure timely completion of the infrastructure project. 'We are happy with the job they have carried out,' Wike said. 'We are going back to see that payments are made to them so they can expedite action.'
