Former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has lost her husband of 33 years, Adeniyi Adeosun, at the age of 62. Adeosun died on August 5 in Lagos, leaving behind a legacy of peace and love.

Adeniyi was a respected businessman and devoted Christian whose life touched many. He was not ill before his death but simply went to bed and didn't wake up, according to his wife.

'I'm heartbroken, I've found it difficult to believe that this actually happened. But at the same time, I'm very thankful,' Kemi Adeosun said during the funeral service. She recalled visiting the mortuary and finding him with a peaceful expression. 'On Friday, I went to the mortuary and when I saw him, he had the biggest smile on his face. He wasn’t sick. He simply went to sleep and didn’t wake up… that’s the way I’d like to go,' she said.

Kemi Adeosun spoke about their 33 years of marriage, recalling plans they had made to travel more often. 'This year would have been 33 years of our wedding anniversary. We had a meeting, two of us, and we said now every three months, we’re just going to be travelling, we spend all the money. We’ve been so sensible that it’s time for us to enjoy ourselves,' she said.

Recalling their life together, Kemi Adeosun described her late husband as a 'mischievous human being', recounting moments that made their marriage memorable. 'The kind of things that were coming to his head. That’s Niyi for you,' she said.

Adeniyi's funeral service was attended by prominent figures, including Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, who had earlier visited Kemi Adeosun to condole with her over the loss.
