Ossai, in a statement released on August 23, 2026, urged for an end to the relentless condemnation. He framed the incident as a moment for encouragement rather than public shaming.
"I know the internet can be harsh. Depression is real and words cut deep. She made a mistake, but we don’t need to torment her daily; she needs our support," Ossai stated. He emphasized the potential negative mental health impact of online backlash. He believes the situation can be transformed into a positive learning opportunity.
The offer includes not just the ₦500,000 cash incentive but also a fully covered VIP experience at the fourth edition of the Delta Social Media Summit. This event is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Asaba. This package is designed to provide comfort and a platform for the young woman to share her narrative.
According to Ossai's statement, the VIP trip will cover flight tickets to Asaba and accommodation in a five-star hotel. It will also include guided tours of notable development projects within Delta State.
