A Dramatic Transformation Unfolds at Birifoh Senior High School

### A construction site at Birifoh Senior High School has transformed dramatically within a month of its sod-cutting ceremony. The GH¢11 million multipurpose dining hall complex, designed to accommodate 2,500 students, has already made significant progress, much to the delight of the Member of Parliament for the Lawra Constituency, Bede A. Ziedeng.

The project is making rapid progress, much to the satisfaction of Bede Ziedeng, who pointed out that the contractor has overcome the initial difficulties with solid ground, which consisted of solid rock. The MP noted that "He's been able to do that, and work is now progressing very, very fast". He is confident the project will be completed well before the one-year deadline.

The project contractor, Solomon Adombiiri Ameabuno of Solodom Construction Limited, attributed the speedy progress to the efficient execution of excavation, starter columns, and concrete works for the foundation. He stated that his team has successfully prepared the blockworks for the complex, which will make way for the complex's subsequent construction phases. The construction team faced significant challenges in setting the foundation due to the rock-hard terrain, but they have since employed blasting and manual excavation to ensure a solid base.

The Solodom Construction Limited team has not only made rapid progress but has also taken steps to engage and support the local community. Mr. Ameabuno revealed that they have raised the daily wage for community labourers to 100 cedis, higher than the standard 70 cedis. He praised the local traditional leadership for their support and assistance in making the project a success – a testament to their collaborative efforts.

As the project advances, the contractor remains committed to delivering a high-quality facility. Solomon Adombiiri Ameabuno assured the Birifoh community that the complex will be fully handed over before the one-year deadline, which has been set for the project. He added that the construction materials, secured up to the lintel level, will soon enable the 2,500-capacity dining hall to be roofed.

Bede A. Ziedeng has been actively monitoring the progress of the project, ensuring that it meets the expectations of the Birifoh community. He has praised the contractor for their hard work and commitment to delivering a quality facility within the stipulated timeframe. The project's success is a direct result of the dedication of both the contractor and the local authorities, and it's clear that the outcome will meet the needs of the school's students.
