Angela List, the Founder and CEO of Nguvu Mining Limited, has been elected First Vice President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines. The election happened at the Chamber's recent Annual General Meeting in Accra.

List, who's also the CEO of Adamus Resources Limited, now holds the Chamber's second-highest leadership position. She'll support the President in shaping policy, promoting technical standards, and advocating sustainable mining practices in Ghana.

Before this, List served as Second Vice President of the Chamber. Her elevation to First Vice President comes with added responsibility, she said, and she promised not to shirk it.

List oversees a group of mining companies across West Africa. These include Adamus Resources Limited, Northern Ashanti Mining Company Limited, Segala Mining Company, Samira Hill Gold Mine, and Poura Resources Limited. In Mali, her interests include SEMICO-SA and MIKO-SA.

She holds an MSc and an MBA from the University of Manchester, as well as a BSc in Administration from the University of Ghana. Before becoming CEO of Nguvu Mining, she served as Executive Director of BCM Ghana Limited and BCM International Limited, both mining services companies that grew significantly under her leadership.

List is recognised as the Most Outstanding Female Mining Entrepreneur in Africa. She also received the 2025 Global Power Female Award, which was presented on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, attended by Heads of State and First Ladies. Nationally, she won the Female CEO of the Year Award in 2023 and the Asantehene Award from Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for her contribution to Ghana's mining industry.

Speaking after her election, List said she'd draw on her 25 years of experience to support the Chamber's objectives and grow the sector. She also called for more women to enter the mining industry, saying: “After all, what men can do, women can do better. Indeed, the time has come to give practical meaning to this saying as far as the mining industry is concerned.”
