Randwick Trainer Peter Snowden Expects Tuileries to Shine
in Tattersall's Tiara
Randwick trainer Peter Snowden is optimistic about Tuileries' chances in the Tattersall's Tiara at Eagle Farm on Saturday, despite the mare missing a run. Snowden believes Tuileries has responded well to spacing her runs and is in the right spot for the Group 1 event.
Tuileries, a So You Think mare, has been battling for favoritism at $6.50 (TAB) with Chad Schofield set to ride. Snowden acknowledged the mare's missed run but pointed out that she trialled well at Rosehill a week prior, indicating she's not missed a beat. He also cited a solid trial before that, saying, 'She worked very strong, so she's in the right spot, she's got a good gate, so we're hopeful.'
Snowden also has Fire Star ($7.50) among the favorites in the Group 3 WJ Healy Stakes (1200m), just 10 lengths away from a win last start in the listed Hinkler Handicap. He's been performing well, and Snowden believes his third-up form is good. 'From a good gate, it will give him a chance to be up on speed where he likes to be,' Snowden said.
In the listed 2YO Tattersall's Stakes, Snowden has two hopes: Pearl Of Dubai ($13), who has placed four times in six outings, and The Machine Gun ($10), who scored on debut at Canterbury. Snowden thinks Pearl Of Dubai could challenge from a better draw on firmer ground, while The Machine Gun is being underestimated.
